Learn All About Me
Vincent Sanzotti is an American composer, born in Butler, PA and attended Butler public schools. His early musical training was under Edward Roncone, Domminic Caputo, G. Stanley Hasty, Michael Dolan, Reginal Kell, and Colin Stern. His interest in composing stems from his high school days and early study with Nicoli Lapotnikoff.
He received his B.A. in Clarinet Performance and a B.A. Degree in Music Education from Carnegie-Mellon University. Mr. Sanzotti was awarded a Masters Degree in History from Slippery Rock University and has done graduate work at Westminster College and the Aspen School of Music in Colorado.
Mr. Sanzotti served a band director at Butler Senior High School 1966-1997. During his tenure at Butler Senior High School, Mr. Sanzotti served as a host to Western Regional Orchestra and Region I State Band. He has been a member of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra since 1955 and a member of the Musicians Concert Band since 1987. In addition, he has played professionally with various bands and commercial groups throughout the tri-state area.
Mr. Sanzotti retired from teaching in 1997 after thirty-two years. His duties at Butler Senior High School included marching band, symphonic band, orchestra, jazz band, and director of musicals, guitar, theory, and classroom music programs. Mr. Sanzotti founded and developed the guitar program and the computer assisted music production program.
The Tuesday Musical Club recognized Mr. Sanzotti, his wife Claudette, and their family as the Musical Family of the Year, and he was honored as an Outstanding Educator by the PMEA in 1990.
Mr. Sanzotti and his wife Claudette reside in Center Township, Butler County. They are proud parents of five children, all pursuing successful careers in various professional areas. In addition, they are the grandparents to seven young ladies, three gentlemen and two great-grand daughters, all showing musical promise.
